Julie Wells is offering two Eating Disorder Workshops for training and CPD for therapists or anyone with a professional interest in learning more about eating disorders and eating challenges.
Workshop 1 is now on Saturday 4th June – this workshop with provide a good grounding in recognising the symptoms and origins of Eating Disorders and distinguish these from Eating Challenges. In short, we will cover models for explaining eating disorders and their identifying features. Our personal identity and challenges as eaters and how these impact on our work. The basics of doing a client assessment and understanding when and where to refer.
Workshop 2 is on Saturday 2nd July – this is a more in depth day looking at NICE guidelines for working with eating disorders. The role and value of food diaries and what ‘normal’ eating looks like. The biological, social and psychological factors that contribute to the development of an eating disorder and some useful therapeutic interventions in working with these clients.
Both workshops are being held at Orchard Park Community Centre, Cambridge from 10am to 4pm.
The workshops will be run by Julie Wells, an integrative counsellor, with considerable training and experience.
Julie completed the Master Practitioner In Eating Disorders & ObesityTraining with the National Centre for Eating Disorders (NCFED) in 2013 and is a certified Eating Psychology Coach from the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, the world’s leading school in Nutritional Psychology.
